Performs treatment procedures predetermined by the therapist and in accordance with the training of the technician. Should be knowledgeable about and proficient in the use of: hot packs, ice packs, iontophoresis, biofeedback, ultrasound, phonophoresis, electrical stimulation, LASER, paraffin, pelvic and cervical traction, hydrotherapy, gait training, setting up of exercise and treatment equipment, proper transfer of patients, transportation of patients, and isolation procedures. This list is not all inclusive.

Specialists in Rehabilitation Medicine is a busy and growing physical medicine and rehabilitation practice. Our therapy team provides excellent rehabilitation care to our patients and external referral sources. We are seeking candidates willing to learn the skills to be a successful physical therapy technician or experienced physical therapy technicians who are interested in growing their skills.

Candidates must have reliable transportation. We have 3 locations however staff are not required to work all locations.

Physical Therapy Technicians will:

• Welcome all patients and visitors by greeting them in person, answer all inquiries and direct patients through the registration process
• Utilizing a multi-line phone system, fax machine, printer, copier and scanner
• Collect all insurance information and verify benefits, verify patient demographics, determine need for and obtain insurance authorizations as needed.
• Competently use and navigate the electronic health record, including scheduling.
• Performs treatment procedures predetermined by the therapist and in accordance with the training of the technician.
• Facilitate the use of hot packs, ice packs, iontophoresis, biofeedback, ultrasound, phonophoresis, electrical stimulation, LASER, paraffin, pelvic and cervical traction, hydrotherapy, and gait training.
• Set up of exercise and treatment equipment, proper transfer of patients, transportation of patients, and isolation procedures.
• Perform daily and monthly maintenance tasks such as cleaning and laundry.

Previous knowledge in anatomy, personal training, and/or medical terminology are helpful but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
